Anchor Bay Morning

Fresh silence;

sunlight broadly splashed;

trees alive in the redwood grove;

and happiness floats

in small, soapy

bubbles of anticipation.

A special couple coos

their greeting of love…

right overhead!

Green leaves, with yellow underbellies,

float on the currents of warm air

pretending not to move.

Orange flames lick the yellow

cups shining in the meadow.

And as for me…I sit

sipping my hot morning tea

sensing the poem

that wants to be made

from this lovely chorus

that cannot be contained.

I sink into full joy and gratitude

for this moment

and out pops

the poem!!!
